Observation Details
Sought out a slide. Quick pit was dug for observation. Group saw a dry, consolidated, dense layer of snow about 20-25 inches from last weekend's storm event, an inch or two of new snow on top from a squally, and no wind activity. A wet sugary layer of crystals was in between the consolidated storm layer and rock, and proved to be somewhat reactive, but no propagation was observed. CT 14ish ECT 23ish. Became windier as we left. Total snowpack was between 25-30 inches. Rocks were hit.
