Observation Details
A pit was dug in a highly wind-deposited area. Observations yielded 1-2ft of consolidated, wind-deposited snow over a ~1ft sugary, rotten ice layer. CT failed after approx. 20 hits, with the consolidated wind snow sliding over the faceted ice layer. No significant results from ECT. The terrain feature of choice featured extremely variable snow depths, so observations certainly will vary. The feature did not have a lot of snow, but the conditions were good for skiing.
