Observation 3/4/2022 local_see
Snow Pit Angel Slide
Wright Peak
Observation Details
After the rain, thaw, wind events, and new snow, we wanted to see how the snowpack changed from our last visit to the Angel Slides on 2/15/22 (although a different slide and slightly different aspect). Nate and I dug our pit at 2:30pm, temperature around 18F, snow flurries, light wind. No red flags observed. Pit dug at 3,105ft, NE aspect. Snow depth 105cm on left side, 75cm on the right. About a 30cm storm slab resting on a hard refrozen snow surface which took some force to saw through. Compression test on right side of pit @75cm, CT21 Q3 @40cm, interface between storm slab and old refrozen snow. ECT results inconclusive.
