Angel Slides: Lookers Right Slide
Observation Details
Overcast day with no precipitation and a light wind. Snow at lower elevation was wet and heavier with a weak crust, lighter and fluffier at higher elevation. Few shooting cracks were seen on the tour in mainly on small but steep slopes of the drainage. No shooting cracks were seen on the slide itself, however small wind loaded slabs (2m x 2m) were witnessed.
Ski cut the top with no results, rode skiers right.
Pit dug at 3,500ft was as follows
60 cm depth
60cm - 25cm one finger
25cm - 24cm knife/pencil
24cm - 17cm one finger
16cm - 1cm knife (ice base)
CT 19 @ 16cm no propagation
Pit Dug at 3,750ft was as follows
142 cm depth
142cm - 114cm one finger
114cm - 69cm four finger
68cm - 66cm knife
65cm - 42cm pencil
41cm - 1cm four finger
CT 20 @ 56cm on faceted layer, no propagation
