Triggered Avalanche
Wet/Loose
D2: Could bury, injure, or kill a person.
There was a slushy/ icy layer on top of the rock slab with about 12 to 18 inches of heavy new snow on top of that (from one storm). It was an East facing aspect at about 2800 feet on a 35 degree slope, with a steep roll over at the bottom of the slab. The wet loose avalanche slid about 100 feet and was skier triggered. Width was about 10 to 20 feet. No one was buried, but the skier took a ride. No injuries.
